Royal Fashion

Well, I fed into the hype. I stayed up until 4 am watching the royal wedding and was so excited to see that Kate Middleton's dress was designed by Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen. It was gorgeous; just the right amount of  traditional elegance mixed with modern influences. The lace overlay combined with the deep neckline was elegant without being too revealing. The skirt was just the right fullness, with the train reaching around 6 feet. The veil was sheer enough for us to see her expressions as well as her hair cascading on her shoulders.  She was radiant.

The Queen, elegant and regal, wore a sunshine yellow dress that seemed to radiate happiness.

And let's talk about the hats! Loved seeing all the creative and fun hats. I am predicting that hats will be making more of a comeback this next season due to the royal wedding.

Gaga Bones

When I saw Lady Gaga's costume for the Grammy Awards I assumed her shoulders had an angular shape due to her outfit and however they did her makeup. Upon reading the latest issue of Harper's Bazaar magazine I realized I was so very wrong. Gaga now has strange flesh colored protrusions from  her shoulders, cheeks, and forehead. In the article, she claims they are "not prosthetics. They're my bones" and "They have always been inside of me, but I have been waiting for the right time to reveal to the universe who I truly am". She also claims that they "come out when I'm inspired" (Gaga, May Bazaar, pg. 158).

Very unusual. But that's Lady Gaga for you.

Spring Salad

Made a yummy salad for dinner tonight. Spinach, corn, black beans, some chips, crab, olive oil and taco seasoning. Delish!
